Hello, you all my name is Carol Shavers-Smith, classically trained chef, I am writing a cookbook.

So, I am writing my first Cookbook entitled: “Iconic Soul Food” A Taste of Authentic American Cuisine

Writing a cookbook is a labor of love. When finished, I will become a published author with a work I can have deep pleasure and satisfaction as a result seeing the fruit of my own achievements.

Question, what will it take for me to write a bestselling Cookbook from start to finish?

First, I needed a” Cookbook Concept” and found that most cookbooks focus on a specific niche which makes the book attractive to a certain subsection of people.

Having a great concept will help curate my recipes around a central theme, so the cookbook is cohesive meaning interesting, inspired, most important giving good instructions. It is all about making sure every recipe works toward creating the best result possible.

There is nothing quite like old-fashioned recipes to get you excited about sitting down for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I will be sharing with my readers some impressive recipes in the coming weeks and months.

These comforting dishes might be staples in our homes and are likely to recall memories from our childhood to adulthood.

I hope that my recipes will draw people who love the foods of the 50s, 60s,70s and 80s. The foods I grew up eating.

The recipes are dishes in “harmony with life as we want to live it today and we want to live it tomorrow”. So let the book creation begin.
